India vs Pakistan: Australian Journalist Posted A Very Derogatory Tweet For Indians

The India vs Pakistan encounter in Group A of Asia Cup 2023 was called off as a no result as the rain didn’t relent at all after India’s innings on Saturday at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

Both teams shared one point each and this meant that Pakistan, who had recorded a massive 238-run victory over Nepal three days ago, are through to the Super 4 round. For India, their next match, against Nepal on September 4th at the same venue, is now a must-win encounter.

The rain had also interrupted India’s innings twice early on in the first couple of hours at the start of the match. During one of the early rain breaks, an Australian journalist with the Twitter handle @DennisCricket_ made a really distasteful and derogatory tweet against the Indians. This particular journalist is a big fan of the Pakistan cricket team and often trolls the Indian cricket team, its players, the BCCI, and sometimes Indian general public too.

His recent tweet was disparaging and belittling the Indian team players in which DennisCricket_ equated Rohit Sharma and the Indian team players to dustbins! Yes. Check out the tweet here.

Hardik-Kishan fightback with century stand after top-order failure

What the Indian fans had been fearing and had been concerned about did happen: the Pakistani fast bowlers tormented the Indian top-order.

India were bundled out for 266 runs with the Pakistan pace trio taking all 10 wickets – Shaheen Afridi took 4 wickets, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah took 3 wickets each to rock India for what would be considered a par total.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. Shaheen made early inroads with the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Haris Rauf got into the act, too, getting rid of Shreyas Gill and Shubman Gill, leaving India reeling at 66-4.

Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan, who was playing out of his usual opening position and batted at number 5 today, made a brilliant fighting partnership of 138 runs in 141 balls. Ishan whacked 9 fours and 2 sixes in his knock of 82 runs in 81 balls and Pandya cracked 7 fours and one six in his innings of 87 runs in 90 balls. Both the batters, sadly, missed their centuries.
