The Indian team’s tour to the West Indies ended with a crushing defeat in the one-off T20 international. They were demolished by the West Indian top-order and will move on to Sri Lanka for the next. India did win the ODI series with a slight hiccup. Here are the ratings for the series:

Shikhar Dhawan (7/10)

Started out really well in the series, scoring big runs in the first game but since then has faltered and not been able to capitalize on good starts. He should up his game for the Lankan series coming up.

Ajinkya Rahane (9/10)

He grabbed hold of the opportunity this time and made sure that he was able to capitalize. One of the highest run getters in the series.

Kohli’s captaincy has been found wanting off late but his batting seems to continue its good vein of form. He cracked a superlative century in the last ODI to re-establish his credentials. A good series win for him.

Despite celebrating his birthday on tour, Dhoni was criticized for not being able to finish the 4th ODI. However, he did play one crucial innings in the 3rd, allowing us to win the game. Not his best however.

Age seems to have caught up with the old warhorse and Yuvi is now surely on his last legs for the international squad. Was dropped after the third ODI and will find it hard to prise it back from Dinesh Karthik.

Dinesh Karthik (6.5/10)

Was given only two games in the ODI series to show his class and did so in the second, scoring a half-century. He was good in the T20 game also and will give the selectors a headache.

Kedar Jadhav (5/10)

Jadhav was given a few chances but he squandered most of them and was not able to put runs on the board. He was effective as a part-time option however.

Hardik Pandya (7/10)

The big hitter in Pandya made only fleeting appearances but it was the bowler who shone on tour. He picked up some important wickets and was tidy.

Ravindra Jadeja (6/10)

Jadeja’s form and confidence seem to have taken a blow and he was ripped apart in the T20. However, everybody in the bowling unit were taken to the cleaners. In the ODI series, he was okay and will not be proud of his average numbers.

Ravichandran Ashwin (6/10)

Another player who was allowed only glimpses in the squad, Ashwin was not at his best in the tournament and will look to work on his limited overs bowling ability.

Kuldeep had a decent tour in one of his first overseas assignments. He picked up some important wickets and was able to bamboozle the opponents with his spin. One for the future surely.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (8/10)

Another decent series for Bhuvi who was able to contribute well with the ball. He is showing signs of a genuine class bowler and can only go from strength to strength.

Mohammed Shami (7/10)

Given Shami was on a comeback trail of sorts, this series was decent for him. He managed to pick up a few wickets and cement his place back.

A very good series for Umesh who was able to get some crucial blows into the West Indian team that allowed the other bowlers to clean up the middle order.
