India and Chennai Super Kings’ young and talented Deepak Chahar has fully recovered from hamstring and back problems and is now determined to reclaim his spot on the national team.

Notably, Chahar last played for India in December last year. He has been plagued by a slew of injuries. He had missed the whole of the IPL season because of a back injury and also sat out of the T20 World Cup in Australia.

Deepak Chahar Determined To Earn National Spot Back

Speaking to PTI Bhasha about his injuries and his wish to make a comeback in the national team, Chahar said: “A player should not get disappointed by injuries. These things are not in a player’s hands. My priority right now is to remain fit and be available for the team. I will give my 100 percent for the team whenever I get a chance,”

He added: “In my case it can also be said that I was having a bad time. Last year I suffered a back injury, which is serious for a fast bowler but now I am completely fit. I am very happy with my bowling at the moment. I am trying to make a comeback into the national team. I recently played the RPL (Rajasthan Premier League) tournament. Till Sunday, I was at the National Cricket Academy. I was practising with the Indian team, which is going to China for the Asian Games,”

He also talked about how he is preparing to make a comeback in the Indian cricket team after recovering from injuries that he suffered during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Chahar said, “I am fit now. Whichever tournaments I get to play, like the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, I would try to do well in them. That is all I can control as a player. We cannot decide anything else as players. My mindset is to do well in every chance I get,”

He further also talked about India’s chances at the World Cup, the pacer said that India has great chances and will have the home advantage in the tournament. He said:

“India has good chances in the tournament. We won last time when it was held in India. Players know the conditions and pitches well and enjoy a home advantage. I cannot predict top four teams since all teams are good,”
