The first of the ongoing 5-match Test series at Trent Bridge ended up in a draw after day 5 was ruined because of the rain. Earlier, team India had ruled the series opener with their classy pace attack. The bowling attack led by Jasprit Bumrah wrapped up the England cricketers on merely 183 runs and also put India in a comfortable position in the first innings.

After bundling up the England cricket team at 303 runs, in the second innings, team India seemed the favorites to win the first test match as they needed 157 more runs with 9 wickets in hand. However, the weather had some other plans.

Inzamam-ul-Haq Made A Big Statement About Team India

Impressed with the performance of the Indian bowling attack, former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq showered praises and stated that he hasn’t ever seen such brilliant bowling by India. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Inzamam hailed the Indian bowling attack. He said:

“Bumrah picked up four wickets in the first innings and put England on the backfoot. Joe Root scored a fifty in the first innings as well but Bumrah never allowed him to feel comfortable. The others pacers like Mohammed Shami and Siraj are also brilliant. I have never seen such an Indian fast bowling line-up,” Inzamam stated on his YouTube channel,”

Furthermore, Inzamam showered praises on Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj. He added that the Indian side set the tone for the game on the opening day itself when they restricted the Root-led England cricket team under 200 runs.

“With their fast bowling on the first day, Team India set the rhythm for the series. They put England on the back foot right away. Subcontinent bowlers often find it difficult in the first Test since the lines to be bowled in England are different. Team India’s bowlers demoralized England’s batting,”
