Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) swashbuckling batsman, AB de Villiers, who played a match-winning knock of 66 runs in the quarter final of IPL 2015 against Rajasthan Royals announced that he would give away his man of the match award to young Mandeep Singh for his stellar performance in the game.
Mandeep, who scored 54 runs off just 34 balls, played a delightful innings and gave full support to AB de Villiers when their team was reeling at 46 for 2, credited AB de Villiers for his batting and said tips from the South African captain has helped him improve his hitting. Mandeep said that AB de Villiers gave him some advice on how to keep a straight head while hitting and this has helped him improve his power-play.
In the post-match presentation, when AB de Villiers was given the man of the match award, he said, Mandeep gave a man of the match performance and he will give this trophy to him.
“The way Mandeep played was a Man-of-the-match performance. The trophy will go to him after the presentation,” he said.
