IPL 2017: After KL Rahul was ruled out for the tournament and captain Virat Kohli was declared unfit for the first few matches, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have suffered a triple blow in the form of AB de Villiers.
De Villiers was due to play for the Titans in the Momentum Cup, which is South Africa’s domestic One Day tournament but was ruled out due to a back injury. The extent of the injury is still unknown and no decision has been taken on his participation in tenth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2017).

This news came just one day after RCB coach Daniel Vettori announced that AB de Villiers will lead RCB in the absence of Virat Kohli, in the first few matches of the tournament.
De Villiers is one of the most destructive T20 batsmen in the world and his absence from IPL 2017 will hurt RCB very badly. De Villiers has featured in 120 matches so far in his IPL career and has scored 3257 runs at an average of 39.24 with 21 half centuries and 3 centuries to his name.
