IPL 2017 auction: Players with highest base price revealed

India fast bowler Ishant Sharma, England’s all-rounder Ben Stokes, England’s limited-overs skipper Eoin Morgan, former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, Sri Lanka’s captain Angelo Mathews are among seven players who have listed themselves at the highest base price of Rs 2 crore for IPL 2017 player auction.

The IPL auction is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on February 20 and there will be high voltage drama when franchises start chasing cricketers in the auction.

There will be a total of 799 players in IPL 2017 auction. Out of which, 160 are capped players from eight countries – leaving out Bangladesh and Pakistan – and 639 from India, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and West Indies.

England’s Jonny Bairstow and Blackcaps’ Trent Boult are among six players who listed themselves at INR 1.5 crore base price in IPL 2017 auction.

The two brackets:

INR 2 crore: Ishant Sharma, Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan, Mitchell Johnson, Angelo Mathews, Chris Woakes, Pat Cummins

INR 1.5 crore: Johnny Bairstow, Trent Boult, Brad Haddin, Nathan Lyon, Kyle Abbott, Jason Holder
