IPL 2017: Chris Lynn Will Be Back Before Playoffs

IPL 2017: Kolkata Knight Riders’ star basman Chris Lynn is recovering fast from his shoulder injury and he is hoping to join the squad in a couple of days. Lynn started his IPL 2017 in blistering style by playing match winning knock for KKR in the opening match. He carried his good from Big Bash League to IPL and impressed one and all with his power-hitting. Lynn formed a brilliant opening pair with KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir, who is also in very good touch in IPL 2017.

But, unfortunately, Lynn dislocated his shoulder while attempting a catch against the Mumbai Indians and since then, he has been nursing his injury and hoping to make a comeback to competitive cricket before the all important ICC Champions Trophy 2017. However, in an interview to cricket.com.au, Lynn has said that he is hoping to return to action before the IPL playoffs. It can either be on 9th May against Kings XI Punjab or on 13th May against Mumbai Indians.

While speaking to cricket.com.au, Lynn said that his shoulder is slowly getting back to normal and his medication has worked really well.

“The shoulder is slowly getting there. I had a cortisone injection the other day and it worked really well,” Lynn told cricket.com.au from Kolkata.

“Because I’ve had it a few times now I sort of knew what timeframe I was looking at to get back if there wasn’t too much damage after a scan.”

The KKR batsman said that he could have gone back home but he decided to stay in Kolkata and get some match practice before the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

“We worked out whatever I could do back home, I can do where I am now in Kolkata,” Lynn said.

“It only makes sense I’m here trying to get fit to play some cricket before heading over to England. There would be nothing worse than going in underprepared to a world tournament.

“I’d like to ideally play a game or two before the finals. It would be a bit unfair on the teammates to rock up into a final not having played a game (since the injury).”
