RCB vs SRH: In a thrilling encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Orange Army showed exceptional mettle and character to surpass the first eliminator hurdle. Bangalore was off to a shaky start after they decided to shuffle their batting order. Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal were shown the exit early by in form bowler, Jason Holder.
However, that is when Bangalore stitched up the solitary band of resistance as Finch and De Villiers stuck together and added 41 runs for the 3rd wicket. ABD kept on dragging the innings as much as he could until the end only to be removed by a blistering delivery of Natarajan.
After struggling with the bat throughout the innings, RCB managed to post 131 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Jason Holder was the pick of the lot with figures of 4-0-25-3.
Sunrisers Hyderabad was off to a rocky start as they started losing wickets early. Goswami nicked off Mohammad Siraj, while Warner suffered the same fate off the same bowler. Manish Pandey was the next to follow suit with Adam Zampa producing absolute magic.
Priyam Garg was bamboozled by Chahal that left Sunrisers reeling at 67 for 4. Williamson kept on continuing the struggle alongside newcomer Jason Holder. The dup kept the scoreboard ticking by rotating the strikes while Kane struck those occasional sixes and fours.
After a good deal of heave and ho and some steady batting from Williamson and Holder, Sunrisers Hyderabad caught a sniff of steam and started propelling their knock to the Promised Land.
Williamson led the charge with a few fine strokes under pressure while Holder played the perfect support. This partnership wasn’t a dynamic one as one would love to see in T20 cricket, but it had all the ingredients of a match-winning knock.
Twitter was left in splits after RCB was once again addled with the tag of chokers as they bowed out of the tournament keeping their heritage of not laying their hands on the trophy intact.
