IPL 2020 Auction: Millions of fans witnessed the Indian Premier League complete the first day of the auction process. The franchises made some tough calls, unexpected ones whereas some bids like Glenn Maxwell going for Rs 10.75 crores and Pat Cummins for Rs 15.50 crores (the highest) were well expected.
However, Mumbai Indians going for Chris Lynn surprised all the pundits at the IPL 2020 auction. The 4-time champions already have Quinton De Kock, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav lined up for the opening slot but they decided to sign the hard-hitting Australian for his base price- Rs 2 crore. Chris Lynn who represented Kolkata Knight Riders for six seasons was released this year and was supposed to create big bud wars, but did not interest any franchise.
However, the Mumbai Indians’ fans must be very happy to welcome this T20 specialist. Chris Lynn’s presence will only boost Mumbai Indians’ campaign this year. The Brisbane based cricketer was not only congratulated by fans but the players also wished him in a special way.
The 29-year-old batsman announced his selection in the Mumbai camp by tweeting very interestingly. His tweet appreciated some perks like the greenery of the city, a match-winning franchise, a flat wicket to bat in and for obvious reasons, relief of not playing against Bumrah for once.
This tweet got trending when the Mumbai spearhead Jasprit Bumrah replied in a quirky manner. Bumrah reminded Lynn that the latter will have to face the Gujarati speedster every day in the nets. It ended in a funny little conversation as Jasprit Bumrah was quick to leave a reply on Lynn’s tweet.
Chris Lynn’s tweet:

Jasprit Bumrah’s reply:
Haha, welcome to the team! @lynny50 You’re still going to have to face me in the nets. ?
