IPL 2020: The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) is months away from the action as it will commence on 29th March 2020. Teams have already made amends to their existing squads in the IPL 2020 auction that happened a month ago in Kolkata.
While the foreign players where the star of the show, some decent Indian domestic players also got their calls. Some youngsters who are making an appearance in the auction for the first time also had teams in demand and deservingly so. Young uncapped players are surprise packages, most of them have plenty amount of talent in them in various departments but nurturing and mentoring them is a very crucial task for any coach to get the best out of them.
While youngsters like Priyam Garg, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ravi Bishnoi went for hefty amounts in the IPL 2020 auction they will be under a lot of pressure to justify themselves and also prove their worth in the big stage.

Suryakumar Yadav (Mumbai Indians)
One of the most decorated Indian uncapped batsmen in the upcoming edition of IPL. Suryakumar Yadav is held in high regard when it comes to the domestic circuit where the 29-year old batter has scored plenty of runs and grabbed the headlines multiple times in the recent past. Even in IPL he has played for various teams and has delivered more often than not. During his Kolkata Knight Riders’ days, Suryakumar was used as a finisher and a player who can hit the long ball late in the innings.
Similarly, at Mumbai Indians he has been used in multiple spots and he has done justice most of the time. This season again he has a great chance to make it big in the IPL 2020 for Mumbai Indians and considering his recent form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he finished as the third-highest run-scorer with 392 runs at a destructive strike rate of 168.97.
When it comes to IPL, Surya Kumar can be considered as a seasoned customer as his statistics speak for themselves. Suryakumar has featured in 85 matches and scored 1544 runs with an average of around28.07. Batting a strike-rate of 131.63 the 29-year old has mustered seven fifties in the tournament. If used properly he can be a lethal batsman for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020, and who knows a great IPL season may earn him a spot in the national team squad.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rajasthan Royals)
Next in is Yashasvi Jaiswal, an Indian U-19 star who raise a bidding war among teams but finally it was Rajasthan Royals who snapped him up for 2.4 Cr in IPL 2020 auction. It was an emotional moment for the opening batsman who is known for his struggles as a cricketer as he sold panipuri for a living in Mumbai. However, all that is now in the past and the 17-year old is currently featuring in the U-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa and at the point of writing Jaiswal has scored 145 runs from 3 innings, most by any other Indian batsman.
Jaiswal started off with a half-century against Sri Lanka and followed it up with an unbeaten 29 against Japan. Even in the last game against New Zealand which was shortened due to rain Jaiwal scored 57. The 17-year old has the talent and the pedigree to perform at the big stage but his double ton against Jharkhand in a Vijay Hazare Trophy game made him the youngest batsman to achieve that feat. He also notched up centuries against Goa and Kerala as well and ended his debut campaign as the fifth-highest run-getter with 564 runs from only six matches with an average of 112.80 better than the above four batsmen. Fans and selectors would be keeping a close eye on Yashasvi Jaiswal in IPL 2020.
IPL 2020: Meet The ‘Oldest’ Player From Each Team
Devdutt Padikkal (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
Royal Challengers Bangalore showed faith in their local talent as they retained the 19-year old for another year. Devdutt Padikkal will come to IPL 2020 on the back of a tremendous domestic season. He was the leading run-scorer of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 580 runs from 12 matches at a handsome strike rate of 175.75. He continued his red hot form with the bat and also scored the most number of runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy showing his caliber there as well. Padikkal mustered 609 runs from 11 innings which had two centuries and five half-centuries which evidently proves his consistency with the bat.
Padikkal will have a lot of fans in the Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2020, considering the local flavor that he will bring to the team and he has to be the most looked up to Indian batsman apart from Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel in the Royal Challengers side. Now it will be interesting to see whether the 19-year old manages to take the leap of faith from domestic to IPL cricket or not.
Ravi Bishnoi (Kings XI Punjab)
Another India U-19 star who has taken the limelight in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy with his street smart bowling approach. Bishnoi is a lanky leg spinner who tends to stick to orthodox leg-spin and has a great googly up his sleeve. The youngster caught the eye at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Rajasthan with four wickets from four matches and an impressive average of 19.75 makes things even more promising, and this is why KXIP invested on him in IPL 2020.
Right at the point of writing, he is India’s leading wicket-taker at the U-19 Cricket World Cup as he has scalped 10 wickets from three matches giving away only 79 runs. He is also a handy customer with the bat and some lusty blows down the order may help his team in the long run. Considering King XI Punjab’s track record Bishnoi is likely to get a handful of matches to make his mark and if he somehow manages to make a mark he can be the talk of the county this season. IPL 2020 will unleash the talent of Ravi Bishnoi.
Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals)
The young all-rounder form Assam impressed everyone with his matured batting and calm and composed nature at this tender age. Parag was retained by Rajasthan Royals after a decent debut season with the Royals last time out. The 17-year-old who is predominantly a top-order batsman played in the lower middle order for his IPL side last season where he was given the role of a finisher and he did it with full justice scoring 160 runs in seven matches which also included a half-century.
Parag is a very street-smart cricketer as he has shown his credentials with the bat last season and will hope that he takes over that form into this season as well and exceed all expectations. The 17-year old is also a handy leg-break bowler and in his 22 T20 matches in his career, he has bowled at an economy of around 6.89. Parag has that talent to take his game to the next level this season mainly with the bat and may also chip in with the ball if needed considering he keeps things tight and does not give away too many runs.
