Rahul Tewatia finished it off in style for Gujrat Titans as he helped his side to defeat Punjab Kings in a nail-biting last-over thriller at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The Hardik Pandya side is the only unbeaten side in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, having won all the 3 games they have played so far.
Chasing a total of 189 runs, Gujarat Titans started off on a disappointing note, having lost Wade early in their innings. However, Shubman Gill rose to the occasion and played a sensational knock. He made an amazing comeback into the form and maintained a superb control over one end, however, much to the agony of Shubman Gill and his fans, the stylish opener was dismissed after scoring 96 runs off 59 balls.
Captain Hardik Pandya also played a crucial knock of 27 runs off 18 balls. Having scored 171 runs at the end of 19 overs, Gujarat Titans required 19 runs to win off the final over.
After having lost Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill, the game looked slipping down from the hands of Gujarat Titans, however, Rahul Tewatia had some other plans. Gujarat needed 12 runs off the last two deliveries and Tewatia hits both of them out of the park to extend his side’s winning spree in the ongoing season. He played a stunning cameo of 13 runs off 3 balls and turned the tables for his side.
