The 22-year-old Ayush Badoni has impressed one and all with his unique ability to smash the ball all around the ground. Badoni was roped in by Lucknow Super Giants at his base price of Rs 20 lakh at the Indian Premier League 2022 mega-auctions. On his debut match, which was against Gujarat Titans, Ayush played a stunning knock of 41-ball 54 and left the entire cricket fraternity in awe of him.
His brilliant knock was followed by another stellar batting show, where he once again showed nerves of steel by playing a crucial role in the massive run-chase against Ravindra Jadeja-led Chennai Super Kings. His batting performance helped his team register their first-ever win in the IPL.
Now coming into game Lucknow Super Giants’ game number 3 of IPL 2022, which was against Delhi Capitals, Badoni once again managed to finish the game for his side and take them how.
It was impressive from Ayush Badoni, who held his nerves and ensured to take his side over the line. He played a short but crucial knock of 10 runs off just 3 balls, which was laced with a four and a six at the strike rate of 333.33.
Earlier, chasing the target of 149 runs, Lucknow got off to a great start with the opening stand between captain KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock, which putted pressure on the Delhi bowlers.
While KL Rahul played like a second fiddle, de Kock tackled the Delhi bowlers aggressively. After Rahul’s dismissal, LSG lost momentum as they started losing wickets at regular intervals. Apart from QDK, every other batter failed to make an impact with the ball. However, the pocket-sized dynamo – Ayush Badoni ensured that the team reaches safely to the victory sides.
