IPL 2022: Ambati Rayudu Shares His Views On Ravindra Jadeja’s Captaincy

Chennai Super Kings superstar batsman Ambati Rayudu feels that CSK’s captain Ravindra Jadeja has the potential to not only lead the Chennai-based franchise but also the Indian cricket team.

Ravindra Jadeja took over the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings from MS Dhoni at the start of the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. However, the team couldn’t get the best of the start this season under the leadership of Jadeja. The four-time champions are going through a rough phase in this season of IPL with 5 defeats in 7 matches.

Jadeja’s captaincy has also come under the scanner as many suggest that Dhoni is still seen calling the shots on-field for Chennai Super Kings.

Ambati Rayudu, who has been an integral part of the Chennai-based franchise, said that though it is almost impossible to fill the shoes of Dhoni but Jadeja has the capacity of leading CSK and even the Indian cricket team in the future.

Talking further about the same, Ambati Rayudu said that the star all-rounder will take guidance from MS Dhoni till he is around there. In a conversation with CSK’s YouTube channel, Rayudu said:

“Filling in MS Dhoni’s shoes, it’s never going to happen. But Jaddu definitely has it in him and under the guidance of Mahi Bhai and till the time he’s around on the ground with him, it will be very easy for him. Jadeja will become better. He has it in him to not only lead CSK but also India one day,”

He added:

There is the shift and it has to come. A lot of youngsters will continue to feature in CSK as the years go by. Having a young captain like Jadeja who has done it and seen it all, it will be great for them to be under him and have his confidence. They have the backing of the captain and I think he is going in the right direction and even the team is. CSK will be very, very successful under him,”

Chennai Super Kings is currently locking its horns with Punjab Kings in the ongoing IPL 2022 clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
