Chennai Super Kings (CSK) continued with their horror run in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League as they lost their fourth consecutive game of the season and this time at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.
Ahead of the game, both the teams were facing a drought of victory as they hadn’t won a game this season, however, SRH have finally opened their account, while shattering the hopes of CSK and their fans.
The defending champions Chennai Super Kings are looking nothing like the champions they have been ever since the beginning of the league. The team is struggling badly to score a win and is now sitting at the second last position in the points table, with four defeats on the trot.
Talking about the game, after being put to bat first, CSK could only manage to put a total of 154 runs on the scoreboard, losing seven wickets in the play. SRH bowlers kept the CSK batters at the bay by picking wickets at regular intervals. Moeen Ali was the top scorer for his side with his 35-ball 48, however, other batters couldn’t contribute much with the bat.
Later, while defending the total, CSK bowlers tried their best but failed miserably as they kept looking for a wicket throughout. SRH opener Abhishek Sharma’s blistering knock of 75(50) helped SRH sail past CSK, giving them their fourth defeat of the season.
