Royal Challengers Bangalore’s wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik has become one of the most talked about players from the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, all thanks to his terrific form. DK has rediscovered his mojo and has taken up the center stage among fans and experts.
With scores of 32*(13), 14*(7), 44*(23), 7*(2), 34(14), 66*(34), and 13*(8) in 7 innings, Dinesh Karthik has emerged out as the biggest match-winners in the ongoing season. In the 7 innings he has played so far, DK has only been dismissed once. He has maintained a strike rat of 200 up until this point.

While Dinesh Karthik has been receiving praises from all corners an old statement from DK about Chennai Super Kings is going viral on the internet.
Well, Chennai Super Kings, which is one of the most successful franchises in IPL history, got off to a disastrous start in this IPL. They are languishing in the bottom 2 of the IPL 2022 points table. CSK has managed only two wins in the first seven games of the season so far.
Several experts and fans feel that the Chennai-based franchise lacks the fire which it once used to have. There were many who feels that CSK should have roped in Dinesh Karthik in their squad at the IPL 2022 mega-auction, considering the fact that MS Dhoni can retire from IPL in a year or two.
Meanwhile, an old quote from the RCB star has resurfaced online, wherein Karthik expressed his desire to play for Chennai Super Kings. He had said:
“In 2008, I was in Australia, in the lead up to the auctions, Dinesh Karthik the person, was convinced that he was the biggest name from Tamil Nadu cricket to have played for the country. For sure, they (CSK) are going to pick me.”
He added:
“I thought that they would pick me later. It’s been 13 years and I am still waiting for that elusive call from CSK,”
At that time, Chennai opted for MS Dhoni and didn’t buy DK. Delhi Daredevils recruited Karthik and since then DK has played for multiple franchises but not for CSK.
