IPL fans were left surprised after Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had let go of their former skipper David Warner and spinner Rashid Khan ahead of IPL 2022 mega-auctions. However, the side today missed the presence of both the players badly on the field.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were playing their first match of the ongoing IPL 2022, was defeated by Rajasthan Royals at the MCA stadium in Pune. RR kickstarted their campaign in a solid way by demolishing Hyderabad tonight by giving an all-around performance with both and the ball. On the other hand, SRH has gone down fighting but the fight came a bit too late from the tailenders.
SRH started from where they left in the previous season. From the first over itself, SRH captain Kane Williamson looked under pressure and he fell in the second over. Big hitters Rahul Tripathi and Nicholas Pooran followed suit as both were dismissed for a duck and Hyderabad found themselves pushed firmly up against a wall.

Aiden Markram was the highest scorer from the side as he played a stellar knock of 57 runs off 41 balls. Apart from him Romario Shepherd and Washington Sundar also played crucial knocks, however, they failed to chase down the target on time and lost the game by 61 runs.
Talking about the bowlers, while Yuzvendra Chahal picked three wickets, Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna picked two each.
Earlier, RR batters gave a tough time to SRH bowlers. An opening partnership of 58 runs in the powerplay overs gave a flying start to the Royals. Sanju Samson also played a captain’s knock as he scored a half-century. Apart from him Jaiswal, Devdutt and Buttler also played crucial knocks to help their side post a competitive total.
Meanwhile, as soon as Rajasthan Royals claimed victory over Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad, social media was already flooded with amazing reactions from the fans to it. There were many who started trolling the franchise and came up with memes featuring SRH former skipper David Warner.
