Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya is looking forward to working with head coach Ashish Nehra in the upcoming 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Hardik feels that having the former fast bowler will help in creating a light atmosphere in the dressing room.

Well, Hardik Pandya, who was drafted for INR 15 crores by the new franchise Gujarat Titans, will be seen leading the team, while, Ashish Nehra has been appointed as the head coach of the team.

Recently, during the jersey-reveal event, Hardik stated that Nehra has never given him the vibe of a coach. Pandya revealed that Nehra wants all the players to be given freedom. He also hailed Nehra as the funniest person he has come across. He said:

“He’s the funniest guy one can come across. He will never give you the coach vibe. It was very clear with Nehraji that let all the players decide what they want to do and give them freedom. You make mistakes but eventually, you learn. I’m very excited to spend time with him,”

Further, Hardik also added that if Gujarat Titans succeed, it will belong to the team and if they fail, he will take all the responsibility. He also added that his role will be to make sure that the players are comfortable. He said:

“Success is theirs, failure is mine. Our role will be to make sure the players are comfortable in whatever capacity we can help them out. Clarity, honesty has to be there. In good times they don’t need any of us. But the season will test you, there will be difficult times and that’s when we will be there to support them,”

Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans side will kickstart their campaign in IPL 2022 with a match against the Lucknow Super Giants on 28th March 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
