Lucknow Super Giants’ blue-eyed boy — Ayush Badoni has become an internet sensation, all thanks to his batting prowess in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. The young talent has always stepped up and came good, whenever his team has needed him the most.
He has played a crucial role as a finisher in all the three games of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022 so far. After playing crucial roles in the first two games – against Gujarat Titans (41-ball 54) and against CSK (19 runs off 9 balls), the cricketer played another stellar knock on Thursday against Delhi Capitals.
Though, he played only three balls but he left a mark on the game. He scored 10 off three balls, which consisted of a stunning six and a four.
Impressed with his 360-degree stroke-play and crucial cameos, recently, Lucknow’s skipper KL Rahul showered praises on him. Rahul had also given Ayush Badoni the nickname “Baby AB” for his amazing batting skills. He had said:
“He’s baby AB. He has been phenomenal from the first day. For a little boy he packs a punch and plays 360 degrees, so happy for him as he grabbed the opportunity. It was not ideal for him to walk out with us four down but he did well under pressure and hopefully he can continue doing that,”
Meanwhile, fans on social media were not at all impressed with KL Rahul comparing the young talent to the legendary player AB de Villiers. Several fans slammed KL Rahul and others for calling Badoni ‘Baby AB’, while pointing out that the cricketer should be given space and time to explore at the moment. There were many who highlighted how unnecessary comparisons will put unnecessary pressure on the young talent.
Here, check out how fans reacted to Badoni being called as ‘Baby AB’:
He isn’t next baby AB, baby DK, or bada Dhoni. He is Ayush Badoni. Let him play and explore.
Sometimes unnecessary comparisons put unnecessary pressure on players.

Player like Ayush Badoni and Dewald Brevis are called Junior Dhoni or Baby AB by some people I think people should call them with their own name instead of giving them names of legendry players because these young players have right to create their own legacy in world of Cricket
