IPL 2022: Liam Livingstone Gave A Hilarious Reply To A Question On His Fielding

Liam Livingstone gave a cheeky reply to a Twitter user who questioned his catching style in the game against Gujarat Titans. The Englishman took the catch of Lockie Ferguson off Kagiso Rabada’s bowling, but it was his catching technique – fingers of both hands pointing upwards – that this Twitter user doubted.

With emojis, he suggested that Livingstone’s hands with open fingers looked like the open mouth of a crocodile, and was really susceptible to dropping the catch since there was a big gap between both hands.

The Punjab Kings all-rounder though managed to grab the ball and complete the catch. He replied the user in a hilarious manner, stating that it’s the completed catch that matters, but conceded that this is a risky habit.

“It’s the end result that matters right? it’s a bad habit of mine I have always done,” Livingstone wrote.

Here, check out Livingstone’s tweet:

Liam Livingstone brought carnage on Mohammed Shami during Punjab’s chase. With just 27 needed from the last 5 overs, Livingstone took no more than just one over to finish the run-chase, carting Mohammed Shami for 28 runs. 6, 6, 6, 4, 2, 4, read Shami’s over; the first six was measured 117 metres! This is the biggest six of the IPL 2022 so far.

After the earth-shattering 117-metre gigantic maximum on the leg-side, Shami was rattled and didn’t have any answers: he sent down an innocuous full toss which Livingstone deposited for another maximum. Regaining himself, Shami went short, but this is Livingstone’s day – his fierce pull shot taking a top edge and flying over the wicket-keeper for a third six over the over.

Next, an attempted slower ball was flicked over square leg, followed by a couple of runs, and Liam Livingstone finished the chase with another boundary.

“Swinging hard enough. I didn’t think I was going to bat at one point, nice to go out and hit a few out the middle,” that’s a bit modest from Livingstone. “I thought Shikhar played beautifully to set it up, and Bhanu with that partnership. It was a big win for us and we needed it, we have played some bad cricket in the last couple of games and it is nice to turn it around. I went up to Mayank and said I fancy going in before you and he said you go in if Bhanu gets out and I go in if Shikhar gets out.”
