IPL 2022: Mukesh Choudhary Revealed What MS Dhoni Told Him Before The Last Over

Mukesh Choudhary Revealed What MS Dhoni Told Him Before The Last Over: Thala’s first game back as the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings’ saw the squad back to winning ways on Sunday as they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

CSK channeled their batting innings very nicely, with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway forming a solid partnership of 182 runs to lead the run-scoring for their side. The game also witnessed Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was struggling to score runs in the ongoing season, getting back into his elements. He played a stunning knock of 99 runs off just 57 balls, smashing 6 fours and 6 sixes.

Though, Dhoni came up to bat in the No.3 position and failed to make it with the bat, scoring just 8 runs, however, he marshaled his troops wonderfully in the second innings of the clash to make chasing tougher for SunRisers Hyderabad.

Chasing a target of over 200 runs was going to be a tough task for SunRisers Hyderabad. Chennai was under pressure initially but they picked two wickets off the final deliveries of the Powerplay to take the control back in their favor.

It was Mukesh Choudhary who provided the much-needed breakthrough, not one but two in two balls to peg SRH back. He dismissed Abhishek Sharma and then got rid of dangerous Rahul Tripathi on the very next ball.

After bowling two overs in the powerplay, Choudhary returned with the ball in the 18th over of the innings and took a couple of more wickets dismissing Shashank Singh and Washington Sundar in a span of three balls to put CSK in the driving seat. Mukesh Chaudhary picked a 4-wicket, playing a crucial role in CSK’s win last night.

Dwaine Pretorius gave 12 runs in the penultimate over, leaving Chaudhary to defend more than 6-run a ball in the last over. Dhoni looked a lot more animated than ever before in the ongoing season during the second innings of the game.

Infact, during the third ball of the final over of the game when Mukesh angled the delivery down towards the leg side to Nicholas Pooran and unfortunately dished out a wide delivery, MS was spotted being furious at the bowler. He pointed towards the fielders placed on the offside, probably indicating that he should have gone wide of off-stump.

At the end of the game, Mukesh talked about his discussion with the captain before the start of the final over. He revealed what MS Dhoni told him before the last over. He said:

“He just told me to bowl normally and even though I tried a couple of different deliveries, he just said bowl normally as they require a lot of runs. So just bowl normally and ‘Don’t give a no-ball,”
