MS Dhoni crushed all the lingering doubts about his batting abilities as he stole the show at the Wankhede Stadium with his crucial and quickfire knock in the ongoing opening match of IPL 2022 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

MS Dhoni, who recently gave up his captaincy duties, walked out to bat at number 7 when Chennai Super Kings was reeling at  67/5 in the 11th over and from there he took over the responsibility of his squad on his shoulders. He fought like a lone warrior as he smashed the KRK bowlers to all over the ground.

Though, he struggled for timing initially but he picked up some momentum by using his brain and smashed a quickfire fifty to help CSK post a competitive target. Dhoni and Jaddu added 70 runs for the 6h wicket as Chennai Super Kings as together they lifted their score to 131 for 5 in 20 overs.

Fans were overjoyed by watching the legendary batter some of the vintage shots. The smashed 7 boundaries and a six as he remained unbeaten on fifty. This was his first half-century in the IPL after 3 years.

Meanwhile, fans on social media were thrilled after watching MS Dhoni and his timeless talent with the bat. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone came up with amazing reactions to his crucial knock.

Among many, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar also joined the bandwagon and came up with an amazing tweet, hailing MS Dhoni. He wrote:

“Well played by @msdhoni. He started slowly but used his experience and a combination of composure, aggression and common sense to get @ChennaiIPL to where they are. Their bowlers will have to bowl exceedingly well to defend the total on this pitch. #CSKvKKR
