Rajasthan Royals’ Shimron Hetmyer is having a good season so far for his new franchise Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. He has been in a rich vein form this season, having scored 233 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 159.59.
And he has attributed his success this year to his gorgeous wife, Nirvani. Hetmyer stated that he has taken his wife’s advice and has tried to take his time in the middle, instead of smashing big shots from ball one.

Ahead of the KKR vs RR game on Monday, speaking to Star Sports, Shimron Hetmyer called his wife his biggest coach and harshest critic. He said;
“It’s about just giving myself the chance. For the first two years I didn’t really give myself a chance the base to get set. This year and in the last year, I said to myself to give a chance to know what the conditions are doing before getting going. My wife has been my biggest coach and my harshest critic and she told me to give myself a couple of balls to judge what’s happening and then take off,”
Further, Hetmyer spoke about what he has been learning at the new franchise. Talking about which, Hetmyer stated that he wants to pick up the reverse sweep shot from Jos Buttler. He said:
“ I want to learn how to reverse-sweep from Jos Buttler. I am practising that in the nets but only getting hit. And the scoop also. When I am batting with him, he makes things easier. Thank god I am not a bowler bowling at the Wankhede, it’s a good ground for batters,”
Meanwhile, talking about his performance in the game last night, Shimron Hetmyer played a crucial unbeaten knock of 27 runs off 12 balls, smashing 1 four and 2 sixes to take the total to 152 runs on the scoreboard. However, the team was defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets. Hetmyer will be in action against Punjab Kings on Saturday.
