Umran Malik Bowled An Unplayable Delivery To Shubman Gill: In a chase of 196 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Gujarat Titans had got off to a flyer by Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha as the pair added up 78 runs in the first 7 overs.

With the chase on track for the table-toppers, Kane Williamson brought on his fastest man, Umran Malik to give a breakthrough; Malik obliged, and in some style – knocking over Gill’s off-stump out of the ground.

Fresh of a four-wicket haul couple of games ago, Umran Malik didn’t need any warm-up deliveries and was right into the act with a 143 KPH back of a length ball.

Saha had creamed through the powerplay, scoring 41 off just 20 balls while Gill, after taking his time as Saha teed off, freed his arms launching Washington Sundar for a maximum. Both were rattled by Umran Malik’s pace and his improved control over his lined and lengths.

With just one run off the first three balls of the over, something’s got to give: a boundary or a wicket. For SRH‘s elation, it was the latter. A fast, rapid 144 KPH In the line delivery, banged on length by the Jammu and Kashmir speedster with the seam as upright as he would’ve wished for.

Moving on the leg side, Gill made room for himself to score on the offside. Irrespective of Gill’s movement, Umran Malik had his eyes dead right on the sticks. Like many other batters before while facing Umran, Gill was late on his slash shot. Then could hear the timber, the off pole uprooted, as he bent low.

Umran Malik had his arms in the air and was on his celebratory run. The Wankhede erupted with one fan holding a placard saying he had come to the stadium especially just to watch Umran Malik do his thing with his high pace.

The next delivery exemplified Umran Malik’s learning and progress this season: he welcomed the in-form Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya with a snorter of a bouncer that Pandya didn’t have much clue about and was hit on high on his arm. That’s a statement-making couple of deliveries from Umran Malik, India’s pace sensation.
