Indian star pacer Deepak Chahar has begun training with an aim to make a return to competitive return in the Indian Premier League. Injuries have derailed Deepak Chahar’s promising international career. He is currently not a part of either of the white-ball squads, even though his performances have been quite decent when he was fit.
Deepak was last seen playing for the Indian cricket team in December 2022 and even during that period when he returned from an injury that kept him out for several months as he struggled with the odd niggle. He was ruled out midway following a recurrence of his injury. He was sent back to the NCA.
In fact, earlier the 30-year-old missed the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League after being snapped up for a massive amount at the auction.
Chahar once again recovered and played a Ranji Trophy match for Rajasthan last month. The CSK star bowler did bowl 21 overs and is on a break currently.
Deepak Chahar Is All Set To Make A Comeback:
Last week, Chahar went on a spiritual journey like Virat Kohli and attended a yoga camp in Rishikesh. As he continued to struggle with the hamstring injury, he chose a different route. With his wife Jaya by his side, Deepak had a fruitful yoga week in Rishikesh. Deepak shared a video of him training on the bank of the river Ganga and wrote:
“Sometimes you should stop and reset yourself and go back to your basics,”

IPL Comeback Stage:
With selectors ignoring him for the Indian squad for the ODI World Cup in October-November, Deepak Chahar will now target Indian Premier League as a stage to launch a comeback bid. Chahar is vital to the composition of the CSK side and with no competitive matches, Chahar is eying an IPL return next month.
Chahar will lead Chennai Super Kings’ pace attack under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, it will give him the perfect opportunity ahead of the Ireland and West Indies tours. The Yellow-squad will start their pre-IPL training camp will begin early March in Chennai.
