IPL 2023
Two years had passed since the last IPL game in Delhi, and the Delhi Capitals hadn’t played at home in 1432 days. During the match against the Gujarat Titans, a member of the Delhi team’s fan club, the “DC Toli,” decided to perform a dance routine for the cheerleaders.
While playing in front of their home fans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the first time in 1432 days was likely not a happy homecoming for the Delhi Capitals, the crowd still had a great time. The Delhi Capitals’ early batting collapse meant the Gujarat Titans only needed to score 62 runs per over to win the game.
Fans were enthusiastic in their support of the home team, and the game was a lot of fun overall. Despite the loss, the Capitals gave a strong effort with the ball, taking three wickets in the powerplay to help slow down the Titans’ batting. The crowd had a good time dancing and listening to music, but one person took it to an extreme. One of the ‘DC Toli,’ the Delhi team’s fan club, decided to perform for the cheerleaders.

To the delight of the crowd, he kept busting out spectacular new hip-hop moves in front of them, making it look like they were competing with him. The audience went crazy when they saw the person dancing freely right in front of them. Fans have said that the video has gone viral because no one could have predicted that cheerleaders would be competing in the game.
The Capitals’ home team has now lost two in a row, so they’ll need to play better with the bat and the ball if they want to compete with the better teams. Batting has been a problem, with players like Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh failing to make an impact, and the bowling attack failing to deliver. On Saturday, April 8, the Capitals will play the Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati.
