The IPL 2024 auction is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. From a pool of over 1,000 registered players, the final list was narrowed down to 333 players. Among them, 214 are Indian cricketers, and 119 are overseas players, including two from associate nations – David Wiese from Namibia and Paul van Meekeren from the Netherlands.

Afghanistan has both the youngest and oldest players in the auction – Allah Ghazanfar (16), an off-spinner, and Mohammad Nabi, a seasoned all-rounder turning 39 on January 1. Out of the 300 shortlisted players, franchises can fill a maximum of 77 slots, with 30 reserved for overseas cricketers. Additionally, 23 players are in the highest base price category of ₹2 crore, while 13 players have a reserve price of ₹1.5 crore.

As per a post on Star Sports’ official Instagram handle, the auction coverage will commence at 12 PM IST, with the bidding scheduled to start at 1 PM IST.

The IPL 2024 auction can be streamed live in India on the JioCinema app and website. Notable Indian players like pacer Harshal Patel and all-rounder Shardul Thakur, along with overseas cricketers including Harry Brook, Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Rachin Ravindra, and Wanindu Hasaranga, are expected to be prominent figures in the auction.

The IPL franchises hold a collective salary cap of ₹262.95 crore for the auction. Gujarat Titans possess the largest purse with ₹38.15 crore, while Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lead in available slots, having eight, with four of them designated for overseas players.
