The Gujarat Titans have been given a massive blow as senior fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been ruled out from the upcoming IPL 2024 season.
As soon as the news broke out on Thursday afternoon, fans trolled Prafull Billore, the Founder and CEO of MBA Chaiwala, as fans had feared this when Prafull had posted his selfie with Shami last week.
The 34-year-old fast bowler has been dealing with an ankle injury issue on his left leg since the World Cup 2023 in October-November. He played throughout the World Cup with painkillers and injections and emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament, despite being on the bench for the first four matches.
However, he aggravated the injury while playing in the World Cup and has since missed all the action. Earlier it was believed that Mohammed Shami would make his comeback in the IPL 2024 and make his bid to be picked in the T20 World Cup in June.
But now, since Mohammed Shami will require surgery in the UK, he will miss the IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup as well. The next major assignment for Team India later this year is the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia in December-January.
