Ahead of the upcoming 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League, the MS Dhoni-led side Chennai Super Kings has suffered a massive blow as Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was stretched off the field because of an injury.
The incident took place during the 3rd ODI match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka when Mustafizur complained of pain in his leg during the 10th over of the SL innings. Mustafizur was unable to walk off by himself and thus had to be stretchered off the field.
Chennai Super Kings bought the services of Mustafizur for INR 2 crore at the IPL 2024 auctions and with CSK facing Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament opener on March 22nd, the franchise will now be keeping a close eye on his health.
During the game, Mustafizur played an instrumental role as he took two crucial wickets in his nine overs, conceding 39 runs. He finished with the figures of 9-0-39-2 as he dismissed Sadeera Samarawickrama and Charith Asalanka. Riding on his performance, Bangladesh bowled the visiting team out for 235 in 50 overs.
Mustafizur Rahman Gave A Huge Update About His Injury
Meanwhile, Meanwhile, CSK must have breathed a sigh of relief as Mustafizur Rahman, departed for India to join the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Before leaving for Chennai on Tuesday, Mustafizur took to his social media and shared an update for his fans. In the picture, he was seen sitting with his luggage at the airport. Sharing the picture, Mustafizur wrote:
“Excited and looking forward to my new assignment. Heading to Chennai for IPL 2024. Keep me in your prayers so that I can deliver my best.”
