Mark Boucher stated that the team plans to spend in the long-term and that young players would have an opportunity to earn starting roles.
Mark Boucher, coach of the Mumbai Indians, has revealed that he wants to have injured left-arm bowler Arjun Tendulkar available for selection after evaluating him in a practise match on Wednesday.
Arjun, who is the son of former Mumbai Indians captain and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, was bought by the franchise before the 2021
He was injured and unable to participate in the tournament that year. After the Mumbai Indians were eliminated from postseason contention in 2022, Arjun did not participate for the team despite having opportunities to do so. There was some backlash last year when the franchise still hadn’t given Arjun his debut.
“Arjun is coming off an injury. We will assess him tonight and it will be good if he is available for selection,” Boucher said during a press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday. The captain of the franchise Rohit Sharma also attended the conference.
