“IPL Mein Zaroorat Nahi Padegi”: Virender Sehwag Trolls England Team For Bringing Personal Chef On India Tour

Former India opener Virender Sehwag and Aakash Chopra hilariously trolled the England team and players for deciding to bring a personal chef on their upcoming tour of India.

India and England will lock horns in a 5-Test series, starting January 25 in Hyderabad.

The ECB has roped in Manchester United football team chef Omar Meziane for their trip to India in order to prevent the players from falling ill. Last year, on England’s tour of Pakistan, a number of England players and staff fell ill before the start of the series. To avoid such an incident again, Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum has agreed to take a personal chef with them.

Yeh zaroorat Cook ke jaane ke baad padhi: Virender Sehwag

This news went viral and it wasn’t received well from Indians, including Virender Sehwag and Aakash Chopra. Both the former batters pointed out that the England players don’t need personal chefs when they come to play in the IPL.

Virender Sehwag even taunted the England team with an Alastair Cook reference, saying that Cook, who is nicknamed ‘Chef’ is retired and England need him again.

Sehwag tweeted: “Yeh zaroorat Cook ke jaane ke baad padhi 😂

IPL mein nahi padegi.”

Virender Sehwag’s former opening partner Aakash Chopra, too, took a subtle dig at the England team.

Chopra tweeted: “Good idea. 👍

I’m sure that majority of English players must be bringing in their chefs for the IPL too….year after year. AS IF”

India have not lost a Test series at home for over 10 years. Their last home Test series defeat came against England in 2012/13 series. The Bazball England team under Stokes and McCullum have not lost a Test series so far.
