With 10 wickets, India Maharajas prevailed in the game.
As they get to watch their favourite cricketing heroes back in action, fans are immensely enjoying the third season of the Legends League Cricket. The competition has been lit up by the legendary players of international cricket, whose breathtaking on-field exploits have fans yearning for the glory days of their playing careers.
The tournament’s fourth match, between the Asia Lions and the India Maharajas, took place on Tuesday, March 14 at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha. Irfan Pathan, a former Indian seamer, grabbed headlines during the first innings of the game with a spectacular catch.
Asia Lions, who were given the opportunity to bat first, got off to a roaring start thanks to 73 runs from their opening pair of Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan in 52 balls. In the ninth over of the innings, with the India Maharajas desperately seeking a breakthrough, Dilshan sliced a delivery from Stuart Binny.
Irfan Pathan, who was positioned at short third man, received the ball directly and made a fantastic low catch to his right. Pathan’s delight added to the epicness of the situation. He maintained the pose as he flopped to the ground and tossed the ball into the air while strutting about.

Robin Uthappa And Gautam Gambhir Blew Away Asia Lions
Resuming the game, the Asia Lions scored 157/5 in the allowed 20 overs thanks to Upul Tharanga’s outstanding 69 off 48 balls, which included seven fours and two sixes. Abdul Razzaq provided a spectacular finish with a hit of 27 off 17 balls, and Dilshan smashed 32 off 27 balls. The best bowler was Suresh Raina, who took two wickets for 16 runs in his two overs of bowling.
In response, Lions found Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa of the Maharajas’ opening pair too difficult to handle as they destroyed their bowling. Gambhir provided strong assistance with his knock of 61* off 36 balls while Uthappa produced a brilliant innings of 88* off 39 balls. The Maharajas were able to reach their goal in just 12.3 overs as a result. Uthappa’s stunning knock earned him the Player of the Match award, as it should.
