Racism has become one of the most discussed topics in the world currently due to the killing of George Floyd, who was killed last month in the US by a police officer. His killing has led to mass protests around the world, with many celebrities around the world coming out against racism and to seek justice for George Floyd.
Recently, West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy also opened up about their experiences of racism in cricket. Sammy alleged that he was racially abused during his stint in IPL in the Sunrise Hyderabad’s dressing room. In a video, Darren Sammy had said:
“I have played all over the world and I have been loved by many people, I have embraced all dressing rooms where I have played, so I was listening to Hasan Minhaj as to how some of the people in his culture describe black people,”
Now, former Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan opened up about the same issue. On Tuesday, Irfan Pathan took to his twitter and gave his opinion on the same. In his tweet, Irfan Pathan wrote that racism is not limited to the color of skin and expressed how one can be racially abused because of religion as well. He wrote:
“Racism is not restricted to the colour of the skin. Not allowing to buy a home in a society just because u have a different faith is a part of racism too… #convenient #racism”

Later, when he was asked if he wrote out of his personal experience or it was something he noticed, he said:
“It is an observation and I don’t think anyone can deny this.”
The tweet soon went viral and was flooded with reactions from twitterati on this. However, the tweet didn’t go down well with the majority of people who trolled him left, right, and center over his tweet.

Deliberate building of religious structures over an already established structure of a different faith is also one sort of racism. It has more dynamics than just ‘racism’. Unfortunately, Indians had to fight a case for it for 60 odd years. ?

How many Muslims in India are not allowed to buy house because of their faith ?
Answer to this will expose “secular” India. Not even famous Muslim celebrities are allowed to buy houses at certain locations. Its not racism but bigotry that you’re too afraid to call out.— XULQI MOON (@XULQIMOON) June 9, 2020
I guess ab tumhara saara contract BCCI se khatam ho jayga

Racism in India is deep rooted.. Killings and lynching of Muslims in broad daylight with impunity is not racism but the deep hatred that is in Indian society. Murders and killers are garlanded and given ministerial berths..
