There was a time when ‘Pathan Brothers’- Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan used to play together for India and many cricket pundits and fans used to say that they will carry the burden of Indian cricket on their strong shoulders for a long period of time.

But, it wasn’t to be. Due to back-to-back injuries Irfan Pathan lost his form and as a result he was dropped from the team. After the Irfan kept working hard at the domestic level but just couldn’t make a comeback.
Yusuf, on the other hand, was overlooked for younger players after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, in which he played a few matches.
Presently, Yusuf Pathan is playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) for Sunrisers Hyderabad and his younger brother Irfan Pathan has joined the commentary team of Star Sports. Well, many would say that Irfan’s career came to an end much earlier than expected but that is how the game of cricket is.

During his initial days, Pathan, with his outstanding swing bowling, drew comparison with former Pakistani cricket Wasim Akram and even the great Waz said that he sees a bit of himself in Irfan.

For a very long period of time, Irfan Pathan was the most attacking Indian blower and he is the only Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in the first over a Test match.

No Indian cricket fan ever forget the sight of a young Irfan Pathan with long curly hair, running through the top order of Pakistan.

Coming back to the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2018), in the match between SRH and RCB, Yusuf Pathan took a brilliant one-handed catch at short third point to dismiss Virat Kohli. It was a huge moment in the game because Virat is the only inform batsman for RCB and his wicket changed the entire complexion of the match.

Irfan sent out a hilarious tweet to Yusuf after the match and made us laugh with his brotherly banter. He tweeted:
“Ye catch tha ya Aam todaa hay?? @iamyusufpathan”

Yusuf Pathan also tweeted in the same fashion and this surely looks like #BrotherGoals.
