In the last couple of days, many media reports have emerged suggesting that Team India’s present coach Anil Kumble will not get an extension, as the players including captain Virat Kohli, are not happy with this style of coaching.
On Monday, it was reported that Indian cricketers reported to Committee of Administrators(CoA) that they are not satisfied with Anil Kumble’s style of functioning. The players complained that there is lack of freedom in the dressing room and they don’t get to express their ideas freely.
Earlier, The Hindu reported that Anil Kumble emphasised on playing chinaman Kuldeep Yadav in the Ranchi Test of the 4-match Test series between India and Australia, when Virat Kohli was not in favour of playing him. However, Yadav did feature in the playing XI and took 4 wickets. It was a very impressive debut for Yadav as he troubled the Australian batters with his left-arm chinaman.
“This may or may not be the reason. But we believe the people in the corridors of power have been told that Kumble is overbearing and doesn’t give freedom to the players. It’s sad that aspersions are cast on a legend of Indian cricket.” an official told The Hindu.
