India will be participating in the Asian Games 2023, to be held in China in September-October, for which The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced their squad for both men’s and women’s teams.

The BCCI will be sending a first-choice women’s team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, but a second-string men’s side, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, will play in the 2023 Asian Games as the first-choice squad, captained by Rohit Sharma, will be playing in the World Cup 2023 at the same time.

Cricket at the Asia Games will be played in T20 format from September 28 to October 8. All the cricket matches in the 2023 Games will be played at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China.

The jersey for Team India’s Asian campaign was leaked on Saturday this week. India’s jersey for the Asia Games is significantly different from what the players wear in international cricket. Fans reacted in various manners, with many tweeting some really funny stuff about the India jersey for the Asian.

Cricket was played at the Asian Games only twice before- Guangzhou in 2010 and Incheon in 2014 with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka winning the tournaments respectively.
