Australia’s all-rounder, James Faulkner, claimed his first international hat-trick in the second One Day International match of the ongoing series against Sri Lanka.
James Faulkner’s hat-trick was spread across two overs. Faulkner claimed Kusal Perera’s wicket on the last ball of the 46th over and then claimed angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera on the first and second ball of the 48th over, respectively. With this hat-trick, James Faulkner became the first Australian to take an ODI hat-trick since Clint McKay in 2013.
Faulkner has been in good bowling form in the series so far. Faulkner’s 4-38 in the first one-dayer earned him the man-of-the-match award and helped Australia take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. In this second ODI, James Faulkner finished with figures of 3-45.
