India’s sensational bowler Jasprit Bumrah made an incredible comeback from injury, because of which he was out of action for almost 11 months. He missed the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup last year. However, he has made a brilliant comeback and has once again proved why he is hailed so highly.
Bumrah Made A Brilliant Comeback

He has made crucial contributions in every game Team India has played so far and was on a totally different level in the big game against Pakistan and England. He picked up two wickets against the Indian cricket team in Ahmedabad on October 14th and also won the Player of the Match award on Sunday.
In the game against England in Lucknow, Bumrah picked two wickets on back-to-back deliveries of the fifth over to give a brilliant start to the side.
Jasprit Bumrah, who became a father last month, is currently having a great time, playing for his nation, however, when he was out of injury, there were many who criticized him and even ruled him out. There were many, who had claimed that Bumrah will never make a comeback. However, the 29-year-old has proved everyone wrong and has come out even stronger.
After the game on Sunday, Bumrah said it was a good challenge for them to bowl under lights for the first time in this tournament. Bumrah said:
“It was good challenge for us that we were put under pressure. We lost a little bit of early wickets. We had to squeeze in and in the field as well, we had to put in a lot of effort. So yeah, very happy with the result. It was really good for us because we’ve been fielding first and we’ve been doing that for a while now. Because [India chased] in the previous series as well, which I played,”
He added:
“Usually when you bowl with the new ball, you first search for swing if there is some swing. Otherwise, you just try and hit a hard length and make it as difficult as possible. So there was a little bit of swing, but not too much from my end. Then I tried to seam the ball a lot more and which was helping a little bit. So then I changed to seam bowling.”
Jasprit Bumrah Gave A Savage Reply To His Critics
Speaking after the India vs England match on Sunday, Jasprit Bumrah gave a brilliant reply to his critics. Bumrah also said that he was unfazed by the outside noise and came back to international cricket with a great headspace. He said:
“My wife [the TV sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan] also works in the sports-media department. So yeah, I heard a lot of question marks on my career that I will never come back and all of that, but it doesn’t really matter. I’m very happy,”
He added:
“I came back and I realised how much I love playing the game. I was not chasing anything. Great headspace was there when I came back from the injury. So yeah, eventually I’m looking at the positives and trying to enjoy as much as you can.”
