Jaydev Unadkat Shared A Heartfelt Post After Earning India Call-Up After 12 Years

The BCCI has finally rewarded Jaydev Unadkat for his hard work in domestic cricket as he has been added to the Test squad for the opening Test match against Bangladesh, kickstarting December 14. Unadkat, who led the Saurashtra team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, gave back-to-back amazing performances for his team Saurashtra’s Vijay Hazare Trophy win recently and emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament, with 19 scalps in 10 games. He made it impossible for the Indian selectors to ignore him and as a result, he received a call from the BCCI for the Test squad after a long wait of 12 years.

Jaydev is currently in Rajkot and waiting to complete his visa formalities, after which he will join the Test squad in Chattogram. It has to be noted that the last time Jaydev played a Test match for team India was in 2010 in a game against South Africa in Centurion. Ever since then, Unadkat has only played 7 ODIs and 10 T20Is but not a single Test match.

After receiving a recall from the BCCI, Unadkat took to his social media and shared a heartfelt post with his fans. Going by his tweet, it looks like he had to pinch himself to feel that he has made his India comeback. He wrote: “Okay, looks like its real! This one’s for all those who have kept believing & supporting me.. I am grateful 🤍 #267 @BCCI”
