While most of the headlines on Sunday were hogged by Australia’s Ashes Test win at Lord’s, Ben Stokes‘ heroic century which went in vain, and the controversial Spirit-of-Cricket evoking run-out of Jonny Bairstow by Alex Carey, another superstar England player, Jos Buttler, managed to find some limelight with his jaw-dropping catch in a T20 match.

During the recent T20 Blast match between Northamptonshire and Lancashire in Manchester, Lancashire wicket-keeper Jos Buttler took a stunning one-handed diving catch to dismiss Northamptonshire batsman Ricardo Vasconcelos off the bowling of left-arm pacer Luke Wood.

The 32-year-old Jos Buttler, who is the England captain in white-ball format, pulled off a marvellous catch that send social media in a frenzy. Luke Wood’s length ball bounced a bit extra taking the outside edge of left-hander Ricardo Vasconcelos and the ball flew to Buttler’s left.

Jos Buttler was quick to react in judging the ball and put in an athletic dive with his left-handed grasping the ball barely above the ground. He showed great temperament in not spilling the ball even after hitting the ground.

Rajasthan Royals offer Jos Buttler the biggest deal in T20 franchise history

Meanwhile, Jos Buttler’s stock in T20 cricket continue to grow as he’s been reportedly offered the biggest T20 deal in franchise history by Rajasthan Royals to play for multiple Royals’ teams. Buttler currently plays for RR in the IPL and its sister franchise Paarl Royals in the SA20 competition in South Africa. The Royals also own Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League, but he is not part of that team currently.

Although RR are yet to formally give him the deal, but according to reports, this multi-year deal for multiple franchises to Jos Buttler will require him to leave his contract with the ECB. It goes without saying that RR’s deal will be of much more amount than Buttler’s current contract with ECB, although he will continue to lead England, that’s without a doubt.
