Jos Buttler Was Asked About Virat Kohli’s Form And He Gave An Epic Reply: Virat Kohli has had an appalling tour of England so far with the bat: he has managed scores of 11 and 20 (in the Edgbaston Test); 1 and 11 (in the two T20Is); and now he was dismissed for a score of only 16 in the second ODI at Lord’s.

Kohli had once again started off his innings showing his great class and confidence as he creamed three boundaries- a couple of sumptuous drives down the ground followed by an elegant cover drive to get his fans excited.
However, that train derailed soon as Kohli’s RCB teammate, pacer David Willey, had the batsman nicking outside off-stump. This – another cheap score and another outside off-stump dismissal – has further raged the debate over his place in the eleven.
Jos Buttler Gave An Epic Reply
This, though, has “incredibly surprised” England’s white-ball skipper Jos Buttler, who commended Kohli as one of the all-time greats of ODI cricket. Buttler admitted that players do go through such slumps, but backed Kohli, saying that the 33-year-old is “always due” one big innings that will change everything.
“I suppose in a little way it’s quite refreshing for the rest of us that he [Kohli] is human and he can have a couple of low scores as well, but look he has been one of the best players, if not the best player in ODI cricket in the world,” Buttler said after England registered a thumping 100-run win at Lord’s.
“So he’s been a fantastic player for so many years and all batters, it just proves, go through runs of form where they don’t perform as well as they can do sometimes. But certainly as an opposition captain, you know a player of that class is always due, so you’re hoping that it doesn’t come against us.”
Buttler expressed amazement at some fans and media section suggesting that Kohli be dropped from India’s eleven.
“Yeah, incredibly surprised, as I said, his record speaks for himself. The matches he’s won for India and yeah, why would you question that?” the English skipper exclaimed.
India, who won the first ODI by 10 wickets, lost the second ODI by a big margin of 100 runs. The series-decider will be played on Sunday at Old Trafford.
