Journalist Ashutosh Raised His Voice For Ravichandran Ashwin

Indian cricket fans were left disappointed after Ravichandran Ashwin was benched in the rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston. Ashwin’s presence was missed badly by the fans after the Indian bowlers struggled to pick wickets as Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root played match-winning centuries to snatch the game away from India.

Ravichandran Ashwin Didn’t Play A Single Game On The Tour

R Ashwin, who is currently the number 2 Test bowler and number 2 ranked all-rounder in the longest format of the game, was not included in India’s playing XI for the rescheduled fifth and final Test match. This time, he didn’t get to play in a single match on the tour.

With a target of 378-runs on the board, team India had already put themselves in a difficult position to win the Edgbaston Test. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, no other bowler managed to leave a mark with their performance.

In the first four Tests against England last year, Ravi Ashwin was asked to warm the bench as Ravindra Jadeja got the nod for the sole spinner’s role in the team. While Jadeja justified his inclusion with a century in the first innings, his performances with the ball have been disappointing.

Ashutosh Raised An Important Question

Meanwhile, disappointed with the decision of team management to bench India’s star spinner, fans are trolling the BCCI left, right, and center.

Among many, popular journalist Ashutosh, who is very active on social media and is known for his opinions on various matters, also took to his Twitter and expressed his disappointment. In his Tweet, Ashutosh raised a very important question, highlighting the biasedness of the BCCI. He wrote:

“Why @ashwinravi99 is not allowed to fail in one test but @imVkohli can fail for three years and in every format ? BIAS ? PREJUDICE ? Or POLITCS ?”
