JUST IN: The Number Of Retentions Allowed For IPL 2025 Auction

There was a meeting between the IPL franchises and the governing council regarding the things related to the upcoming IPL auction. In the meeting, the franchises discussed about the number of retentions they will be potentially allowed. They also talked about raising the budget from 100 crores INR. The governing council has not yet released the update officially.

Number Of Retentions Allowed For IPL 2025 Auction

However, Cricbuzz is reporting that the IPL governing council will allow the franchises to retain 6 of their players. It will be a mix of the actual retentions and Right-To-Match cards. During the recent meeting, the IPL franchise owners did not come in a common ground regarding the number of retentions. Some wanted 4, some even wanted 10. The reports also stated that there was a fight between KKR owner SRK and Punjab Kings owner Ness Wadia regarding the number of retentions to be allowed.

So, now everyone has to wait and watch what the IPL governing council will allow for the upcoming mega auction.
