Karn Sharma showcased his fielding prowess by taking a brilliant diving catch off his own bowling to dismiss the dangerous Abdul Samad in the ongoing match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Kavya Maran Was Left Disappointed With SRH Batters’ Performance
The leg-spinner had a strong start to the game. In his first over, he conceded just four runs and dismissed Nitish Reddy for 13 runs, leaving SRH struggling at five down for 69 runs in the eighth over. Sharma continued his dominance in his next over, removing Samad and putting RCB in a commanding position.
Karn Sharma struck gold on the first delivery of the tenth over by dismissing Samad. The leg-spinner bowled a length ball aimed at the pads, tempting Samad to play towards the leg-side.
However, the ball unexpectedly turned, causing Samad to mistime his shot towards the bowler. Karn Sharma swiftly reacted by diving to his right and pulling off an excellent catch. The surprising turn of events prompted an interesting reaction from SRH CEO Kavya Maran, who appeared visibly surprised by Samad’s shot.
Kavya’s reaction has gone viral on the internet. Watch the viral video:

Talking about the game, coming out to bat first, RCB managed to set a formidable total of 206/7 in their 20 overs, thanks to impressive performances from Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli. Patidar’s explosive innings saw him reach a half-century in just 19 balls, while Kohli contributed 51 runs off 43 deliveries.
Cameron Green also played a significant role with an unbeaten 37 runs to propel RCB past the 200-run mark. SRH bowlers Jaydev Unadkat and T Natarajan were the pick of the bunch, claiming three and two wickets respectively.
“I think the surface is double-paced, especially for fast bowlers. We can use cutters well on this wicket. The spinners will try to bowl back of a length as much as possible. I was just planning my innings, I was not thinking about century,” said Patidar after his whirlwind knock.
“It was not a plan but I started well in that over, I was trying to maximise,” he said when asked about hitting Mayank Markande for four sixes in a row. “Playing spinners, I try to maximise. to take as many runs in an over as I can, to keep the pressure on the bowler. I was trying to maximise the fast bowler as well, but I’ll try in the next match.”
