The Kerala High Court on Friday sent a notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on a petition filed by out of favour bowler S Sreesanth to lift the lifetime ban imposed on him.

Sreesanth was banned by BCCI after his name came up in spot-fixing scandal in Indian Premier League (IPL). During the 2013 season of IPL, Sreesanth, along with a couple of other Rajasthan Royals players, was accused of invoking in spot-fixing. But, All the 36 accused, including Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila were discharged in the IPL 6 spot-fixing case by Patiala House Court in July 2015. The BCCI, however, refused to alter its disciplinary decision even after the verdict.

Sreesanth, in his petition, mentioned that he was invited by Scotland`s Glenroth Club for playing premier league there from the first week of April this year, for which the NOC from the BCCI was mandatory, but the board denied a No Objection Certificate.

This development has come after Sreesanth approached the High Court on March 1st. Now, the next hearing in the matter is on March 5.
