India vs Australia 2017: This is why Murali Vijay isn’t playing in the second Test

India vs Australia 2017, Second Test, Bangalore: India’s opener Murali Vijay was ruled out of the second Test due to a shoulder injury, which he picked during one of the practice sessions.

Murali Vijay was ruled out on the morning of the second Test, a media release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed. It may be recalled here that Vijay had suffered another shoulder injury while fielding during the final Test against England in Chennai. There also Vijay injured his left shoulder and he had to leave the field to get the treatment.

Vijay is one of the best batsmen for India in Test cricket, but he hasn’t been among the runs in the last couple of Tests. With his copybook technique and solid temperament, Vijay provides stability to India’s batting line up in Test cricket at the top of the order.

The BCCI hasn’t confirmed whether he will be available for the third Test. But, if he doesn’t get fit on time for the third Test, it will be a big blow for India.

Murali Vijay’s Tamil Nadu teammate Abhinav Mukund replaced him to join K L Rahul for opening duties. However, Mukund failed make any desired impact as he was dismissed for a duck.
