Indian opening batsman Mayank Agarwal was on cloud nine after his name was inscribed on the legendary Honours Board at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, following his fabulous knock of 150 runs in the first innings of the second Test match against New Zealand.

Mayank Agarwal was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ for his terrific performances with the bat. He made a strong comeback in the international scene with scores of 150 and 62 in two innings. All thanks to his knocks, he joined the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Alastair Cook, and Kevin Pietersen among some of the legendary names to have smashed a century in their name at the iconic venue.

On Tuesday, Mayank took to his Twitter and had shared an image of himself looking at the Honours Board with his name alongside some of the legends of the game. Sharing the picture, Mayank wrote:

“This isn’t just a name on a board. This is all the hardwork culminating into something that goes beyond. Playing Test cricket and contributing to a win for your country is everything for someone who grew up worshipping the game. It’s an honour to be named alongside so many greats.”

The picture went viral in no time and the Tweet was flooded with amazing reactions from the fans to it. The picture also caught the attention of Kevin Pietersen, whose name was also mentioned on the board.

However, KP was quick to notice the mistake in his name’s spelling as ‘K P Pieterson’ was written on the board instead of ‘K P Pietersen’. Reacting to the same, KP asked Mayank to get his name’s spelling corrected with a hilarious response. He wrote:

“Please ask them to spell my name correctly brother!”

For the unversed, KP played a whirlwind knock of 186 runs during England’s tour in 2012 and played a crucial role in his side’s 2-1 series win, which was the last Test series that India lost at home and has won 14 since then, consecutively.
