Former England captain and conservationist Kevin Pietersen shared a special message for India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “standing up” for the protection of rhinos and other animals in India.

On Wednesday, Kevin Pietersen took to Twitter and lauded Narendra Modi and all the other men and women for standing up for the protection of animals in India. In his tweet, while retweeting a piece of news on Rhinos, KP expressed how he respects everyone, who took a stand for the protection of animals in India. He wrote:

“Bravo, @narendramodiand bravo to all the men and women who sacrifice their lives in protecting the animals in India too. I’ve met lots of them and I respect you immensely!”

The piece of news shared by Kevin Pietersen revealed how 167 one-horned Rhinos were killed by poachers in Congress tenure. Hundreds of Rhinos were killed by poachers during the tenure of Congress. But the BJP governments have succeeded in protecting the one-horned Rhinoceros in the state. In a major success, only one rhino was poached in 2021 – which is the lowest in the last 21 years.

Assam Special DGP and The Anti-Poaching Task Force (APTF) of Kaziranga National Park chief GP Singh tweeted, “Year 2021 saw only one incident of rhino poaching in April 2021. The containment of poaching of One-horn rhino has been a major achievement of the Anti-Poaching Task Force constituted by @mygovassamin in June 2021.Compliments to @assampolice and @kaziranga_personnel. @CMOfficeAssam”.

KP’s Tweet was noticed by the CM of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma who came up with an amazing reply to KP. He wrote:

“Thanks for the acknowledgment @KP24. Inspired by Our PM @narendramodi we’ve launched aggressive programs to curb poaching. We’re proud to have burnt & destroyed a stockpile of Rhino horns, largest ever in world,on World Rhino Day to send a stern message to poachers & syndicate”
