Another day, another brilliant performance by Rinku Singh. It won’t be wrong to say that the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League will be remembered for the heroics of Rinku Singh. On Saturday, in a game against Lucknow Super Giants, Rinku produced yet another brilliant knock as he almost pulled off a heist that would have put KKR in a playoff spot.
Rinku Singh’s Heroics Went In Vain
Batting under pressure with wickets falling at the other end, Rinku played an unbeaten knock of 67 runs off just 33 balls. With 18 runs off the last three balls, Rinku managed a six and followed it up with a four and a six, however, KKR fell short by one run to give Lucknow Super Giants an assured place in the playoffs.
In the ongoing season, Rinku has proved that just like MS Dhoni he has a calm head on his shoulders, that can soak in all the pressure and deliver in a tense chase. Saturday night’s game was just another example.
He smashed LSG bowlers to all the corners of the ground, raining fours and sixes. He also smashed a breathtaking 110-meter six off Naveen-ul-Haq and made everyone jump off their seats.

Later, after the game, KKR captain Nitish Rana hailed Rinku for his brilliant efforts throughout the season. He said:
“The result didn’t go in our favour, but plenty of positives to take from this season and lots to improve as well. Will come back stronger next season. You need to do well in all three departments to compete and finish in the top 4 in the world’s best league.”
He added:
“I feel bad because we had the ability to qualify in the top four and we will work on mistakes and come back better next season. Feels like all 14 matches, I’ve spoken about Rinku. I am personally very happy for him (Rinku) and I don’t really have words to describe about him because the entire world has seen what he can do on a cricket field,”
