KKR batsman Rinku Singh has been in sensational form in the IPL 2023 and has unarguably been KKR’s most consistent batsman so far this season, despite his role being that of a middle-order finisher.
The left-hander Singh continued on his good form and once again put in another solid performance late in KKR’s innings against SRH in Hyderabad to take his side to a defendable total.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, KKR found themselves at 35/3 and entered Rinku. The southpaw wasn’t all attacking from the start of his innings as first Nitish Rana and then Andre Russell took the attack to the SRH bowlers.
Once both Rana and Russell were dismissed, leaving KKR at 130/6 in the 16th over then Rinku opened up his arms. He had cracked a few fours until that time, but after Russell and Narine’s wicket, Rinku smashed Markande for a gigantic six. Some good bowling from T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar meant Rinku Singh was only 4 runs short of a half-century. He finished as KKR’s top-scorer in the innings with 46 runs off 35 balls, taking KKR to a par total of 171.
With this knock, Rinku Singh went on top of those run-scorers who are not openers in IPL 2023.
